Higest Standard – Rated-4 Data Centre

The Kwai Chung Rate-4 Data Center was an ambitious project that aimed to transform an existing industrial building into a state-of-the-art data center facility. The new-built data center adhered to the stringent requirements of the rate-4 data center design standard while meeting all the necessary building regulations enforced in Hong Kong. Our primary objective was to assist the client in navigating the complex process of obtaining statutory approvals from the Buildings Department and Fire Services Department, as well as facilitating the lease modification procedure with the lease consultant.

The transformation of the industrial building into a cutting-edge data center required meticulous planning and coordination. Our design team worked closely with the client to ensure that the building plans met the stringent standards set forth by the relevant authorities. By collaborating with the client and leveraging our expertise in data center design, we prepared comprehensive submissions that fulfilled the requirements of the Buildings Department and the Fire Services Department for obtaining the necessary approvals.

In addition to the statutory submissions, we also assisted the client in liaising with CLP Power to secure a high-voltage power supply for the proposed data center. This collaboration ensured that the facility could meet the demanding power requirements of modern data centers, providing a reliable and scalable infrastructure for the client’s operations.

The design of the Kwai Chung Rate-4 Data Center incorporated the highest industry standards to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and security. It encompassed robust mechanical and electrical systems, redundant power supplies, efficient cooling mechanisms, advanced fire suppression systems, and comprehensive security measures. The data center was equipped with cutting-edge technology to support continuous operations and safeguard critical data.
